The challenge of organic waste in our cities
Every year, tons of valuable organic material ends up in landfills, especially in urban environments. Existing solutions for homes and apartments are often impractical, unattractive, or unhygienic for modern life.
Odor and pests
Traditional kitchen bins cause unpleasant odors and attract pests, which is unacceptable for indoor living spaces.
Lack of space
Urban homes and apartments rarely have the room for bulky, inconvenient compost or waste containers.
Complexity
Composting is often seen as complex and labor-intensive—a hobby for specialists with large gardens.
Limited collection
Municipal organic waste collection services are often too infrequent, causing kitchen scraps to pile up.
Every kitchen tells the same story. Food scraps go into a soggy bag or into a nasty container outside. It's a compromise we've all silently accepted.
Bonter was designed to rewrite that story. We believe you shouldn’t have to compromise on a clean home to live sustainably. The problem isn’t the food scraps, but the outdated system for dealing with them. Bonter introduces a new system. By containing and transforming waste right where it’s created, it eliminates the daily friction. It’s the simple relief of a solution that is as elegant as it is effective.
Based on a conservative estimate, Bonter has a TAM (Total Addressable Market) of 137.67 million households in the EU, of which 13.77 million is the SAM (Serviceable Available Market) and 69,000 is the SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market).
How we approach it differently
No dirty hands
The continuous-flow system allows you to harvest finished compost from a separate hatch, without ever needing to touch the active composting zone.
No trips outside
Designed for your interior, Bonter eliminates the need for daily or nightly trips to an outdoor bin, regardless of the weather.
No odor
Our system is engineered for a perfect aerobic process. This means no foul rot, just a faint, earthy scent when you open the lid.
Designed to last,
engineered for ease
Composting should not be a project. Bonter One is a contained system built with durable, considered materials. Every detail is designed for the long run, ensuring a simple habit that works for any home.
Below is an image of our V1 prototype currently being tested in my kitchen.
Odor-free with compostable filters
Tuned airflow and a natural, compostable carbon filter work together to keep your kitchen completely fresh.
Works without electricity or bags
A quiet, natural process powered by composting worms. No plugs, no noise, and no plastic bags to throw away.
Designed to fit beautifully indoors
Its refined silhouette, compact footprint, and considered materials belong in your home, not hidden away.
Set up once, use forever
Built from durable materials and designed to be repairable. Bonter One is an investment, not a disposable gadget.

The Winwin Loan: Support local entrepreneurship
The Winwin Loan is a measure from the Flemish Government encouraging individuals to provide loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Flanders. It allows local communities to support business growth while benefiting from certain fiscal advantages.
The Winwin Loan runs for a maximum of ten years, includes an annual 2.5% tax credit on the outstanding capital, and allows an interest rate within the legal limits (2.5% in this example).
The figures shown are illustrative and based on the official Flemish Government scheme. They do not represent an offer or proposal from Bonter but help you understand how the programme works.
Lending money to a business involves risk. You may not recover all or part of the amount lent.
